Luke 23:39-43. This morning as I meditated upon heaven it was like drinking from a firehose. I’m overwhelmed! I didn’t really know how to attack this, so I just started making a list in my journal of things about heaven.
Here’s my list (do I need to mention that this is NOT an exhaustive list?)
Paradise; Perfection; Fellowship; Worship; Peace; Comfort; Joy Unbridled; Love Unending; Pure; Holy; Truthful; Sincere; KING; Light; Reunion; Change (we’ll be like Him); As Intended; Responsibility (we have something to do); Beauty; No tears; No pain; No sorrow; No sickness; No grief; No regret; No doubt; No sin; Rejoicing; Singing; Eternal; HOME.
It is interesting to me that these are the things we long for throughout life. We’re not wrong to look for them. We’re just looking in the wrong place (Colossians 3:1-2)
